Have you always wanted to learn more about our geladas, elephants and lions? During the autumn holiday, keeper talks are on the programme. Not only will you discover more about the animals and their behaviour, but you'll also get to meet the people who care for them every day. Feel free to ask questions!

Closed to the public for years, the Bat Cave will reopen for a limited time this autumn holiday. Young visitors aged 4 to 8 are invited to enjoy special storytime sessions in this unique setting. Every day during the autumn holiday, volunteers will be reading from 'Vleertje Muis', an exciting story about bats, between 12:00 and 16:00. Don’t miss it!
It’s almost Halloween, the season of spooky fun, trick-or-treating and, of course, pumpkins! On Wednesday 21 October and Saturday 31 October, you can carve your very own pumpkin at Blijdorp. Our colleagues from the Botanical Department have received dozens of ornamental pumpkins from Elsje Fiederelsje and can’t wait to help transform them into delightfully spooky lanterns.
Be sure to reserve your spot soon. Please book one place for each participating child so we can provide the best possible guidance for everyone taking part. A valid admission ticket to the zoo is required to participate.
