Lab request

For years, Diergaarde Blijdorp has had a high-standard veterinary laboratory. Here, we closely monitor the health of all our animals. We also conduct unique diagnostic tests for numerous zoos, both domestically and abroad.

We perform analyses in the fields of clinical chemistry, haematology, hormones, and virology. Our laboratory staff are ready five days a week to conduct thorough tests.

Operational days
Our laboratory is manned and operational five days a week. However, hormone determinations from faeces and virology are not performed daily. For these, we operate according to a fixed weekly schedule.

Please note: materials must be received at least 1 working day before the test is performed due to test turnaround times.
