In the coming period, Bakker will focus on listening, exploring, and engaging in discussions with staff, partners, and the congregation of Rotterdam. This phase will form the base for developing a park plan that will guide the further development of Rotterdam Zoo.

The plan will be developed in conjunction with the Masterplan 2050 and will mark an important step in the continued evolution of Rotterdam Zoo as a future-proof zoo with a clear social role in nature conservation, animal welfare, and visitor experience.

Belinde Bakker:
“Rotterdam Zoo is an organisation with a strong social significance. The combination of nature conservation, education, and visitor experience makes this place unique. I look forward to working with employees and partners to make choices that will ensure Blijdorp remains relevant in the long term.”

With the arrival of Belinde Bakker, Rotterdam Zoo takes the next step in building an innovative and sustainable future.
