This summer, a day at Blijdorp feels like a vacation close to home. From July 18 through August 30, you can enjoy extraordinary animals, charming summer terraces, delicious summer specials and surprising activities for all ages. Come visit the newborn zebra Tumo, Bongo Yuki, or the pygmy mongooses. Be sure to visit the new group of gorillas, too. Silverback Shomari and his three females are the new residents of the gorilla enclosure.
Every Saturday in August (August 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29), Blijdorp will stay open until 9:00 p.m. During these Summer Evenings, you can explore Blijdorp in a special ‘afterhours’ atmosphere, with extra activities such as talks by animal caretakers, workshops, and unique encounters with animals.
