As one of the six members of Generation Green, you contribute to a greener future. For Blijdorp, and for our planet. Inspire, motivate, and activate others with your passion! As a panel member, you meet Blijdorp’s experts, get unique behind-the-scenes access, and help think along on important projects.

The Kids Panel of Diergaarde Blijdorp made a valuable contribution to several projects within the zoo over the past year. For example, the panel shared ideas on the development of the Bee Valley and the crucial role of bees in the future of our planet. In addition, the 2025 Kids Panel opened a new exhibition titled Living with Windfarms.
The panel also voted on the new, animal-friendly kids menu, developed in the six-part YouTube series Keuken Blijdorp. Their favorite? The Elephantastic Burger! Officially presented by the Kids Panel on March 19.
Being a member of the Kids Panel for a year means developing yourself into a true Diergaarde Blijdorp expert. With your voice, ideas, and passion for nature, you help Blijdorp inspire even more people, both children and adults.
- Make an impact: share your ideas on important projects within the zoo;
- Learn from our experts: during the meetings, you'll meet many Blijdorp experts and can ask all the questions you want;
- Go behind-the-scenes: as a panel member, you'll get exclusive access to all departments. From animal and plant care to the entrance, restaurants, and offices;
- Stay up to date: you'll be the first to hear the latest news from Blijdorp.
Your opinion matters, and we’d love to hear it! That’s why, together with our Kids Panel members, we organize several key meetings, each with its own theme. These themes are all crucial for the future of nature and Diergaarde Blijdorp. The themes are:
- The future of education and experience;
- The future of food and drinks;
- A better world starts with you.
These theme days take place around the spring, may, and autumn holidays. The exact dates will, of course, be determined together with the six panel members.

- You have applied before the application period;
- You are not the child of a Diergaarde Blijdorp employee.
