Last Friday, a technical malfunction in a sensor in one of the temporary quarantine tanks caused a severe disruption in the water temperature, resulting in the death of five loggerhead turtles. This is a significant blow to everyone who has been dedicated to the recovery of these animals that washed ashore last winter.
While an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause, care for the remaining three turtles continues. These turtles are swimming in two other Oceanium tanks, where they are awaiting release back to their place of origin.
